The sea bream royale is rightly one of the most popular edible fish. In addition to its characteristic, pleasantly spicy flavor, it also impresses with its white, lean meat, which remains juicy and firm when fried. The sea bream comes from a modern and species-appropriate aquaculture farm in the Kvarner Bay in Croatia, which does not use any antibiotics or other additives.

Gilthead Royale - The golden delicacy


The sea bream belongs to the sea bass family and is also known under the names sea bream royael, dorade or orata. Characteristic of sea bream are a broad, golden band between the eyes, as well as golden spots and stripes on the body of the fish. The skin is predominantly white-grayish and the flesh varies from white to pale pink. The cultivation of our sea bream royale is free of antibiotics, genetic engineering, PAP (Processed Animal Protein) and other medicines.

Versatile and tasty - Preparation of sea bream fillets


Compared to other white-fleshed and lean fish, their taste is uniquely spicy and hardly needs to be supplemented by spices. The skin gets particularly crispy during frying, while the meat remains tender and juicy and in shape. That's why the sea bream fillet is also ideal for grilling, you can read more about this in our How to grill sea bream. As a recipe suggestion, we recommend a crispy sea bream fillet with caramelized carrots, which is not only super delicious, but also prepared in less than 45 minutes.

Origin

The sea bream, with the Latin name Sparus aurata , comes from sustainable, antibiotic- and GMO-free aquaculture in Croatia. The island of Cres is surrounded by crystal-clear Adriatic water. It is one of the largest islands in Croatia. There, completely exposed to the open sea current at a depth of 70 meters, the sea bream grows in a particularly modern and sustainable aquaculture with plenty of space. When breeding sea bream, the welfare of the animals is the top priority. For this reason, the use of chemical additives such as growth promoters and antibiotics is consistently avoided. Immediate processing on site guarantees top quality. This simplifies the processing of sea bream in home kitchens.
