Our GOOD GAMBA shrimp come from Castile-León, in the heart of Spain - far from coastal fishing grounds, but right at the forefront of innovation. They are raised in a modern, land-based, high-tech aquaculture facility under strictly controlled conditions - sustainably, in a resource-efficient manner, and independent of the sea.
The GOOD GAMBA is a White Tiger shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei), characterized by its firm flesh and delicate, mildly sweet flavor.
What makes it special is that instead of seawater, a closed saltwater recirculation system is used that produces absolutely no wastewater. This is made possible by a Microbial Technology System that utilizes natural microorganisms: These not only biologically purify the water but also provide the shrimp with valuable nutrients.
And because sustainability at GOOD GAMBA doesn’t stop at the breeding tanks, the system is based on a true circular economy: sludge is reused, packaging is recycled, and thanks to regional production in the heart of Europe, transport distances remain short - and the carbon footprint small.
