The butter mackerel impresses with its snow-white meat and buttery melt - characteristics that it shares with the Italian delicacy lardo. Inspired by this tradition, a unique lardo-style “fish ham” is created from large mackerel in the smokehouse. Aged with coarse salt, tart herbs and exquisite spices, the fish develops its full aroma before being gently cold-smoked with the utmost care and in genuine CleanSmoke quality.


Thanks to this innovative smoking process, a particularly pure, unadulterated taste experience is created - free from undesirable additives but full of natural flavors. The result: an incomparably mild and delicate treat that tastes best thinly sliced - just like its classic role model, lardo.

Defrosting instructions :

  • The optimal defrosting - for those who plan ahead: You can gently defrost this product in the refrigerator within 12 hours.
  • The quick version - for those who decide at short notice: If you are in a hurry, it is possible to defrost this product in a water bath within 1 hour. The water should be cold to lukewarm.
