Finest minced meat from Bavaria


We get our minced meat from organic Bavarian forest pigs. The animals live in 100% species-appropriate conditions in their natural habitat from an early age. On a total of 20 hectares of forest pasture with woodland and pastureland, each pig has 500-1000 m² of space and can decide for itself what kind of food it eats and where it settles down, in accordance with the motto "freedom of choice".

 

In the pasture forests, historical, animal-friendly husbandry meets modern knowledge in feeding and husbandry. These circumstances ensure the incomparable quality of the whale pigs' meat. The minced meat is also extremely finely marbled and juicy due to the high intramuscular fat content and has an intense, nutty aroma. For this reason, we have expanded our meat range - to include the finest pork that you can enjoy with a clear conscience.

Due to the active lifestyle of the forest pigs, the meat has a finer and firmer structure. It also has an intense, nutty aroma, which is due to the animals' natural diet. In addition to the organic feed that they enjoy, the pigs also love to eat acorns or roots that they find in the forest. Due to its exceptional quality, the minced meat from Bavarian organic forest pigs is particularly suitable for dishes in which the meat is clearly the main focus. For example, it is ideal for meatballs, meatloaf or ragouts. It also develops its excellent flavor in the form of meatballs in a Parmesan cream sauce with spaghetti.

Origin

We source the meat of the forest pigs from a small family business in Rosenheim. What began as a research project for a dissertation on the behavior, animal health and meat quality of domestic pigs in the forest has now developed into a modern large-scale project on 20 hectares of pasture forest. Pasture forests are forests that are used as pasture for livestock and avoid the costly clearing and creation of grassland. The forest pigs live at three locations in Bavaria, and another location near Magdeburg is already in the starting blocks. The Bavarian organic forest pigs grow up from an early age in the pasture forests with forest and pasture land, which offer each animal 500-1000m² of space in which it can move freely and pursue its natural behavior such as rooting and exploring. The forest pigs are the result of the combination of historical, animal-friendly husbandry and modern knowledge in feeding and husbandry, combined with the pig breed known for its meat quality and robustness: the Swabian-Halle forest pigs.
