A simple recipe that highlights the delicate taste of the Bavarian shrimp. With just a few, high-quality ingredients, the natural taste of the Bavarian shrimp tartare is retained, while lime and avocado provide a fresh, creamy addition.

Ingredients

  • 100 g Bavarian shrimp tartare
  • 1 lime (juice and zest)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 small, ripe avocado
  • 1 tbsp high-quality extra virgin olive oil

Preparation

  1. Put the Bavarian shrimp tartare in a bowl. Grate the lime and add half of the grated zest to the tartare. Season with salt and pepper and carefully mix.
  2. Halve the avocado, remove the pit and cut the flesh into small cubes. Place the avocado cubes in a bowl and season with the juice of the lime, a little salt and freshly ground pepper to keep them fresh and slightly acidic.
  3. Distribute the avocado cubes evenly on two small plates.
  4. Arrange the Bavarian shrimp tartare on top and refine with a few key drops of high-quality extra virgin olive oil and the remaining lime zest.

Tip: Serve the ready-made tartare as a starter with slices of toasted white bread or crusty baguette. The bread provides a crunchy contrast and harmonizes wonderfully with the fresh flavours of the shrimp tartare.
