Origin
Our organic Black Tiger Shrimp, Penaeus monodon, the Latin name, grows in an aquaculture in southern Vietnam.
The Black Tiger Shrimp grow without the use of feed or chemicals. The entire nutrient requirement for their growth is met by the mangrove forests. The small emissions that still occur are compensated for by a certified reforestation project. The fully regenerative and natural farming method makes Organic Black Tiger Shrimp an extremely environmentally friendly choice.
The shrimp have plenty of space and are given a long time to grow. Once they have reached the required size, the king prawns are carefully caught by hand using nets. In the process, the farmers are attentive ambassadors for the mangrove forests, ensuring animal welfare and environmental protection. In return, they receive better pay.
Maintaining healthy mangrove forests is key to our low ecological footprint and the high quality of organic black tiger shrimp. Our program directly rewards farmers for keeping mangrove forests intact.
