Origin

The Tristan rock lobster (Jasus tristani) comes from the clear, cold waters around the Tristan da Cunha archipelago in the Southeast Atlantic (FAO 47) – one of the most remote permanently inhabited regions on Earth. There, the coveted cold-water rock lobster is sustainably caught using creels and traps according to MSC standards.

For generations, fishing has been an important livelihood for the island community. To ensure the long-term sustainability of the stocks, strict fishing regulations and carefully set quotas are in place. This protects the unique habitat of the Tristan rock lobster and ensures that this delicacy can continue to be enjoyed responsibly in the future.
