1 x Matjesfilets natural 260 g - 1 sour cream 200 g
- 1 creamy yogurt 150 g, 1.5 %
- 2 small red onions
- 1 apple
- Some salt and freshly ground pepper
- 5-6 pickles (crunchy cornichons)
- 1 bunch of dill
This quick and delicious dish is an absolute classic. It is also very healthy thanks to the high omega-3 content of the herring, complemented by the freshness and vitamins of the apple and the mild red onion. The sour cream in combination with the yoghurt is the perfect companion for the slightly salty herring.
Zubereitung
- Cut the herring fillets into bite-sized pieces
- Finely chop the gherkins, an onion and half an apple and mix with the sour cream, yoghurt and a pinch of salt. Tear the dill into small bunches and add half of it.
- Arrange the prepared cream on a plate, top with the pieces of herring, the apple cut into slices and onion rings.
- Sprinkle with a little pepper and garnish with the remaining dill.
Goes well with: black or brown bread and boiled potatoes. After serving, drizzle with some of the pickle stock from the glass. This adds another sweet and sour touch to the dish.
