Wagyu beef from sustainable, species-appropriate cattle farming
Our Wagyu beef comes from Gut Wagyu, a Wagyu cattle farm near Bremen in Northern Germany. Here, the animals are raised on around 30 hectares of pasture in a species-appropriate way. This means they are able to express their natural behavior. Since cattle originate from transitional landscapes between forest and steppe, the farm is designed to reflect exactly that: open grasslands for grazing and resting, combined with hedges, trees, and shelters that provide protection from cold weather or storms. Sustainability is also a key focus. Farming is approached holistically, with livestock considered part of a circular system. Rather than competing with crop production for human consumption (such as wheat), cattle farming complements it. By-products that are not suitable for human consumption are upcycled as feed. Additional feed sources include residual materials that, for example, do not meet baking quality standards. This approach helps minimize CO₂ emissions and supports a more sustainable way of farming in harmony with nature.
How wagyu beef tastes best
The good news: thanks to its fine marbling and exceptional quality, Wagyu comes with an almost guaranteed success rate – it’s nearly impossible to prepare it in a way that doesn’t taste incredible. After removing it from the packaging, let the meat rest at room temperature for about 20 minutes and gently pat it dry. Wagyu is perfect for quick grilling or searing in a cast iron pan over medium heat. Keep the seasoning minimal to let the natural flavor shine.
