Our delicacy, the Bavarian shrimp , has its origins in the state of pretzels and beer. Since 2015, there has been a closed aquaculture farm just outside Munich in Langenpreising, where shrimps are bred regionally. From the outside, the building looks like a large and simple warehouse; it contains a state-of-the-art recirculation system or RAS system (Recirculating Aquaculture System).

Our sister company Oceanloop Munich has been breeding sustainable and particularly tasty white tiger shrimp here since 2016 (at that time under the founding name Crusta Nova) using innovative technology “Made in Germany”.

Since 2023, the Bavarian shrimp no longer comes exclusively from Bavaria. With the official merger with our long-standing innovation partner in Kiel, our delicacies now have a home in the far north at the Oceanloop Farm in Kiel. Oceanloop Kiel, like Oceanloop Munich, has been in operation since 2015 and is a real pioneer in land-based shrimp farming.

Sustainable production without antibiotics & water waste:

Oceanloop farms are closed RAS aquaculture facilities that not only minimize water consumption, but also do not use any chemicals and antibiotics or other additives. Excellent water qualities, self-developed, high-quality feed and special habitats ensure an optimal and species-appropriate environment in which the shrimp can grow with enough space.
